This is a combination I came up with to marinate beef and pork. It makes for very tasty meat.
1/4 Cup soy sauce
1/4 Cup beef broth
1/2 Cup chopped onion
1 t minced garlic
a pinch of dried oregano
Place meat in large zip lock bag and pour marinade in over it. Squish it around with your hands to coat all of the meat. You might want to place the bag in a baking dish or bowl before putting it in the fridge. Allow to marinate for several hours up to 24 hours. Then drain off marinade and discard it. Cook meat as desired. Espcially good for grilled steaks and chops. Don't add salt to this...the soy sauce has all the salt you will need. I use this on chicken sometimes too but do not marinate for more than about 3 hours. It is best on beef or pork.
